Field View Bed & Breakfast is situated near the pretty market town of Saffron Walden. The town is located in northwest Essex some 35 miles from London, but in a largely unspoilt rural area.

The name of the town originated from the rare saffron crocus, once used as a medicine and an ingredient in cooking. The Quakers built many of the historic buildings, remain largely untouched by industrialisation. There are the remains of a small castle, and a pretty church.

Saffron Walden is one of the finest preserved examples of a medieval market town and is quintessentially English. Within its fantastic Conservation Area you can find examples of every style of architecture dating from the 12th to the 21st century. Stansted airport is easily accessible and Cambridge is just 30 minutes away.
